Reaching Nationals for Nationals

September 2013

Hi Friend,

Training Nationals for Nationals
in integrity and skills
(Psalm 78:72)
We are at the last quarter of 2013.  How time flies!  With all the economic and political turmoil, wars and rumors of war, and earthquakes and pestilences, surely Jesus is coming quickly.  How the Gospel of our Lord and Savior needs to be preached and taught to the ends of the world.  Yes, the King’s business requires haste.  We, His citizens must invite others into His Kingdom.
Faith at Work Fellowship network and collaborate with some pastors, leaders and churches for the training of Nationals for Nationals.   In the training of pastors and leaders, we are multiplying God’s ministry.  In the training of Nationals, we believe that they are God’s unique channels for and to their own.
Some of our trainers include Rev. Dr Yap Kim Sin (Zion BP), Rev. Robert Chew (Moriah BP), Rev. Mark Tay (Sembawang BP), Rev. Simon N (Galilee BP), Rev. Tan Eng Boo (Grace BP), Rev. Yap Beng Shin (Olivet BP) and Mr. John Ching (Life BP).  Three of these are undergoing Doctor of Ministry studies with another from Myanmar.  These trainers have trained with God’s giftedness in places, such as Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Cambodia, Nepal, Myanmar, China, Kenya and Tanzania.
We usually network with key pastors or leaders in the countries who in turn will bring in their contacts.  In countries where there are Bible schools, we train as adjunct teachers.  In others, we offer degree program under Asia Seminary for Ministry
We also offer support in providing dental, medical and educational care.  Places like Cambodia need teachers in English, Teaching, Computer, business and nursing.  For some pastors and widows in Nepal, we provide two female goats per family.  The needs are so many.  We yearn to be all things to all, that we may bring many to Jesus Christ.  We are praying for some good mission teams 2014 to help in some countries.  Please let us know your interest.

Reaching Nationals for Nationals
June 2013

Hi friend,

Training Nationals for Nationals
in integrity and skills
(Psalm 78:72)
June month, our pastors and trainers were busy with church camps and retreats. These were special teaching as well as bonding times.  Jesus always called His disciples to come apart to rest and recharge. God is good to us for such times of refreshing and re-energizing. Truly, come ye apart or come ye apart.

MYANMAR (Jun. 16 - 21)
The Golden Land is now more open to the outside world. Lots of investments are in hotel, educational and health services and other industries. Even Coke is making its comeback. How we need to pray and seek the good Lord for His will and blessing in this open door. Truly, when He opens, no man can shut.
A team of five pastors took time to visit three Bible colleges and an orphanage in June.  For some, it was the first time. There were good times of the sharing of the Word of God and of interaction with the leaders, students and people. We are praying for trainers to be raised up to train Nationals.
God continues to work in our hearts and we are now praying and planning for the Pastors’ Workshop (30 Oct. - 8 Nov.) and for the National Spiritual Convention (29 Jan. 2014 - 3 Feb. 2014). Please pray and do let us know if you can participate with us.

MEDAN, INDONESIA (Jun. 24-28)
A good team with Rev. Haposan as interpreter taught in Medan.  Pastor Freddy Yong taught on the prophetic book of Nahum while Mr. Ding trained on Communication Skills. The 40+ students were blessed.
Some students had already completed their requirements for MMin degree and we will be graduating them on Sep. 21.  Classes will be held 16 - 20 Sep. We will need some ties for the graduating men and some shawls for the ladies. Please let us know if you can help.

SOME QUICK DATES:
1.      MEDAN, INDONESIA – 16 - 20 Sep. (Graduation, 21 Sep.)
2.     KATHMANDU, NEPAL – 27 Sep. - 4 Oct.
3.     MANDALAY, MYANMAR — Pastors’ Workshop, 30 Oct. - 8 Nov.
4.     MEDAN, INDONESIA – 18 - 22 Nov.

June 2013: Fathers Day

June 2013,
A Tribute to Dad
(by Rev Goh Seng Fong
June 29, 1979)

My heart has many fond memories of you. What I am today as a servant of my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ has been, in many, many ways, influenced by you. In you, I see the faithfulness of the all-providing Almighty God. As a child, I can still remember the times of privilege and joy when I put my hands trustingly in yours, knowing that you would care and provide. Even in these short years of my marriage life, I can see your faithfulness in taking care of us. Our physical home has your touch of care. Our cupboards are filled with your supplies. The lives of your son, his wife and your grandson have been so refreshed again and again by your constant presence, protection and provision. Truly, it is then not difficult for me to believe that there is a God of faithfulness and love because you, as His creation, has exemplified Him, the Creator. Also, it is not difficult for me to give up my life fully to the Almighty God and Father as His servant, because you have been an example of His Reality and Faithfulness in providing for my family and for the family of the believers of Jesus Christ and for others who need the Saviour Jesus Christ.
Many other lessons have I learned from you that which I cannot pen all at once, but that which I will always praise God daily for you as I am called into remembrance of them. One great lesson, however, stands very prominently which you have taught, not just only with words, but, above all, with your actions and life. This great lesson which you personify is the constant persistency of your labour of love in many practical ways for me and the family, as well as for many that have come in contact with you. Even in times of misunderstanding, you have stood the test of consistent love for us. Nothing that we have done or said stops you from loving us. Many are the testimonies of your labour of love and many mourn your quick departure from this life.
You are now entered into your deserved rest. All souls belong to the Lord God and you are now returned to Him. You have lived well and the Lord God has appointed your rest from the fury and weariness of this life. Your physical body, dust it is and to dust it shall return, is now sown to the ground but it shall be raised incorruptible and put on immortality. Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, not only died for our sins so that our sins are forgiven, but also rose up from the dead to guarantee our bodily resurrection. Then death will have no more sting and grave, no victory. Then God shall wipe away all tears from our eyes, and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain, for the former things are passed away.
I promise to take care of your companion of over forty years, your wife, and my mother. In your choice of her, you have provided me, my brothers and sisters, one of the greatest mothers of the world. We thank God very much for both of you. May we live our lives wisely, never foolishly, never a grief to you or to her that bare us!
You are now gone ahead of us and we know that you are still concerned that we live our lives well. You have always written “May God Bless You”, and we know that as you are in the presence of the Lord God, you are personally requesting Him to bless us with His salvation, wisdom and strength to do and complete His will. May the Lord God help us that we will be worthy of His Name, and your prayers for us! We will meet again before His Throne and praise God for all that He has done for us. Till we see one another again,  enjoy your rest in God.
