May 2013: Mother's Day

May 2013

God's Blessed Mother's Day

for all mothers

In fond memory of our mother
Rev Goh Seng Fong
(April 10,1988)

Dearest Mother,
We thank our LORD GOD for giving to us the greatest mother of all. In both you and dad, your companion of over forty years, we have a great example of the nature and personality of the Almighty GOD! In dad, we have been reminded of GOD’S constant presence, protection and provision. In you, and because of your constant presence with us, we have been privileged to know GOD’S holiness, love, discipline and sacrifice. God has thus blessed us with you both to complete our lives.
Though you did not have a lot of formal education, you taught us by your example the importance of truthfulness and hard work. We do not have to take things that do not belong to us! We have been privileged to have life so that we can apply our strength and talent to good use in order to have a good life; you had always been with us in the various endeavors of our life, providing with the on-the-job training. One aspect involved our studies in school. Even though you did not know the subjects involved, you were with us even till late in the night, helping us by your presence, and the special drinks and food that you provided. Though you had never been in any parent training class, yet you realized that
”the rod and reproof give wisdom; but a child left to himself bringeth his mother to shame”
(Proverbs 29:15)
You applied that rod and reproof firmly and we praise GOD that we have not brought you shame. There were many instances of special sacrifices you made for us! Once, you had to labor outside the home to supplement the income of the home during a very difficult time. We still remember the great labor of love. Every time we were sick, you were always there all day and night. It was always so comforting to feel the touch of your hand on our foreheads, even during the late hours of the nights. There was so much tenderness in your life that has made it so easy for us to realize there must be tender-mercies in the GOD who made us. Your love and sacrifice extended to our spouses and children. You had always been quick to observe their needs and to supply them as best as you know how. Outside our home, you had always been extending your hand to help the needy of whatever needs. One example involved the peace-making of quarrels, You had always been a peace-maker and others always brought their problems to you. You had not failed them, even though there were times when others misunderstood and you yourself were blamed. Truly, blessed are the peacemakers for they shall be called the children of GOD (Matthew 5:9).
Your children arise today and call you blessed! Many have done virtuously, but you have excelled them all. Above all, we praise you for the fear of the LORD GOD for as GOD’S Word reminds us,
“Favor is deceitful and beauty is vain; but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised!”
(Proverbs 31:30).
“Like as a father pitieth his children, so the LORD pitieth them that fear him.”
(Psalm 103:13).
You are now entered into your deserved rest, in the presence of our LORD God and re-united with dad. There is rest from your labor.  Your good works will follow after you in and through our lives. May we never bring shame to you! We do not say, “Goodbye” for now. We will say, “Mother, Goodnight, have a good rest till we see you in the morning.” Praise the Lord that we will see you again in the many mansions in Heaven and we will never be separated again. Praise GOD for the Blessed Hope because of the death and resurrection of our LORD Jesus Christ! Thank you again for the privilege and joy to have you as our mother. We will see you someday! Enjoy your rest with dad. We love you and will miss you!

Reaching Nationals for Nationals
April 2013

Hi friend,

Training Nationals for Nationals
in integrity and skills
(Psalm 78:72)
God is working and how we are blessed.  March had been a busy month for which we praise the good Lord for using us.  April brings its showers and much needed rest.  The month of May will bring forth some possibilities and stretching out.  Thanks so very much for your prayers and participation in the Gospel training of leaders for multiplication.
<><><><><><><><><>
1.        KATHMANDU, NEPAL (8-15 March).  Pastors Yap Beng Shin and Simon N. had great times with the pastors and leaders.  Pastor Yap trained on Follow-up discipleship, the immediate steps after the salvation experience.  Through this, we added another step in the process of intentional discipleship.  Pastor Simon worked on the mission emphasis, on the Life of Paul and his missionary journeys.  In our global village, Nepalese are also having their Diaspora.  We read of reports of our graduates going into Bhutan, Bangladesh, Malaysia, Myanmar and Hong Kong, training leaders.  Our next graduation will be in September, 2014.  The Lord willing, the group from East Nepal will be among those graduating.

2.       SINGAPORE  (21-23 March).  Back home, we began the Diploma of Ministry program – 3 modules per year in March, July and October – 8 modules will be needed for the Diploma or Graduate Diploma.  The emphasis will be on development of character and of ministry.  We had twelve participants and other visitors.  We are continuing to monitor their progress and will call them in for more equipping.  Please pray as we map out their assignments.  We will let you know of other training sessions.

3.       KUCHING, MALAYSIA (29-31 March).  Good News Rallies were held among the Dyak-Kadazan-Dusun of Sarawak.  God gave us a good turn-out and some precious decisions for the good Lord.  The combined meetings brought some special fellowship and bonding among the churches and we are privileged to be used of the Lord.

4.       SHALOM BP CHURCH, SINGAPORE.  I am privileged to be helping out as Advisor/Trainer at Shalom Church for the six months while Pastor Rev. Tan Choon Seng takes a break to refresh and reflect.  We began in April to implement a Prayer Ministry.  God moved in our midst as we had a good number for the Prayer Seminar.  Prayer partners signed up for the various requests.  May the good Lord be pleased to raise up Prayer Partners as we build Shalom as a house of prayer.

Our emphasis for May is building lives in community.  We will begin with self-leading in ministry and then enter into His likeness as we explore the Fruit of the Spirit in individual life and the Fruit of the Spirit in Community.  Mother’s Day, on May 12, will see us taking baby steps to invite and welcome new visitors into our midst.  These will be the parents of our kindergarten students.  Great are the possibilities and the potential to reach souls for Jesus and to build all our lives together.  The Fruit Seminar will be held at Shalom on Sat. 18 May, 3pm to 6.30pm.  Please pray for and with us as we pray and allow the good Lord to work in and through us.

5.       MEDAN, INDONESIA (24-28 June).  A team of two will be training the leaders in Medan.  About 32 are already planning to graduate.  By September 2013, we would be having some 50 altogether.  Please pray for these leaders as they move out into the vast harvest field of Indonesia.

6.       OTHER TRAINING SESSIONS.

A. SEPTEMBER 16th - 20th  – Medan, Indonesia, with graduation
B.  SEPTEMBER 27th  to OCTOBER 5TH – Kathmandu, Nepal
C.  OCTOBER 29th to NOVEMBER 8TH – Mandalay, Myanmar
